Tạm biệt , Hanoi

Penning down the final chapter of my Vietnam really brings back the fresh memories that's just two months before. As compared to my previous more lengthy trips, the day trip to Hoa Lu and Tam Coc - just a couple hours away from the city centre of Hanoi - was mostly slow-paced activities. If you have noticed the pattern by now, the more appealing sight seeing and adventurous activities most lie beyond the vicinity of city centre. Whether heading off for Halong Bay cruise, enjoying leisure bike and boat rides at Hoa Lu and Tam Coc to valley trekking at Sapa -- they take up to a minimum 2 hours of driving across bumpy roads.

Yet, endure through that journey and you will be relieved with a calming scenery in its own charm where its passing local residents greeted me with their warm welcoming smile. It ain't easy leaving Hanoi, bidding farewell to the flavourful broth of pho, fulfilling sticky rice and those people-watching moments while drinking beer. But I'll definitely be back for Vietnam for its warm culture and delish cuisine.

Love, Sharon.
